What is your current role and what does it involve?

Currently I’m studying Business in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Murdoch University. It involves the Hospitality Industry to Manage Hotels, Restaurants, Conference Aanagement, Sales and Business Development. Also, my degree would be useful for Customer Service Manager, Human Resources Manager, Retail Manager, Tour Manager.

What is the best thing about studying at William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT and what have you found to be most valuable?

William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT was the second house for me. I personally gained a lot of knowledge about the Hospitality, Tourism and Event Industry William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT is a place where they give priority to people to show their talents and to gain experience to life. We all were like a family at William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT. It’s a life experience that no one would get in other institutes. It’s the training that found me valuable. I was taught to work confidently in public also the experience to be a leader in the Hospitality Industry.

What aspects of your study have you found to be most valuable?

Planning events, working for them and gaining the knowledge and experience have been my main aspect at William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT.

What are your plans for the future?

My aim is to complete my degree and work for an organization like a hotel or an event planning company and gain some experience and build my own restaurant in Australia.

What have you enjoyed most about your course?

The memories that were made amongst friends, lecturers and many other guests we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside. The opportunity to work in some of the highest profile events alongside esteemed guests and colleagues.

Words of wisdom

Working together as a batch. Not only a batch, it is also working with different people in different batchers as a team with different ideas where everyone gets together as a team and work as one is what I enjoyed the most during the course. Also, the helpfulness of the lecturers that has been given to the students.   

Challenges you’ve faced by choosing a Tourism and Hospitality related programme.

Hospitality means primarily the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.
