“Prasthaan” Event held by the William Angliss students at the Colombo Academy Of Hospitality Management @ SLIIT
“Prasthaan” was held as a Bollywood themed Street Food Festival which was organized by the Batch Eight students of the academy supported by the Australian High Commission, Indian Cultural Centre and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and was held on the 18th, August 2017 from 5.30pm to 10.30pm.
The name of the event “Prasthaan” symbolizes “Departure”, in order to begin a new journey. The purpose of organizing such a spectacular event is to create incredible memories with a touch of India for all the people attending. This event highlighted the Indian culture by showcasing the street food, Holi Fesitval, Mehendi Art Stall ,glamorous fashion of India as well as incorporating Indian music and dance.
The 8th Batch students event “Prasthaan” was held as their final Assessment in the Advanced Diploma. The students took this opportunity to strengthen the ties in the hospitality and tourism sector between the three countries India, Australia and Sri Lanka.
The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency, The Deputy High Commissioner of Australia, Mr Tim Huggins, The Director of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau, Mr Prasad Daluwatte and many other hospitality industry experts.
